Mickey Robinson, a 19-year-old skydiver, survived a plane crash with near-fatal injuries. Yet he continued to tell of his near-death visit to heaven, where he had a vision of his future, and the many events in which his cure defied medical expectations and baffled and embarrassed doctors. He also talks about his second spiritual encounter with Jesus after the accident and contains much information about how the 1960s set the stage for his own journey back to faith.

Robinson’s account of the socio-political turmoil of this era provides a good context for understanding his spiritual journey, but the historical context is sometimes weighed heavily. Much of the book’s success may ultimately depend on readers finding credibility in Robinson’s account of his vision and the instant healing he experienced. Unlike other books that have become bestsellers in the genre, Robinson’s story focuses on depicting what really happened to him rather than the touching lessons he learned from his experiences.
