The Passover Lamb is a type and shadow of Jesus who is the true fulfillment of that prophecy. In this article, we will show another prophetic evidence for setting aside the Passover Lamb that is unheard off by most people.
“Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel saying in the 10TH DAY of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house.” – Exodus 12:3
“And ye shall keep (set aside) it up until the 14TH DAY of the same month, and the whole congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. – Exodus 12:6
When the Passover Festival (see Prophetic Evidence For The Feasts Of The LORD) was incorporated into the Mosaic Law that God gave to Israel, the Passover Lamb needed to be set aside for 4 days (10th of Nisan till the 14th of Nisan) right before it was sacrificed. It was to be inspected during these 4 days for any spots or blemishes.
Through the Passover Lamb, God was speaking of the coming Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world.
Just like how the passover lamb was set aside for “4 days” prophetically, Jesus was set aside for 4,000 years before He died on the Cross. Therefore we have precisely 4,000 years from Creation to the Cross (not His Birth).
“ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from you vain conversation (way of life) received by tradition from you fathers but with the PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST, as of a LAMB without blemish and without spot (the Passover Lamb) who verily was foreordained (chosen) before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you.” – 1 Peter 1:18 – 20.
We have shown that the seven days of creation represent 7000 years in the course of God’s blueprint for humanity’s redemption (see Prophetic Evidence For Genesis 7 Days Of Creation), and we can now see that the four days when the Passover Lamb was set aside before it was sacrificed represent 4000 years in which Jesus was set aside from the Fall before He was sacrificed on the Cross in the place of mankind.

From Abraham to Jesus’ first coming = 2000 years (2 days).
Jesus perfectly fulfilled the promise of redemption found in the Passover Lamb.
- The Passover lamb was to be chosen and set apart on the 10th day of the first month of Nissan. Fulfillment: On the 10th day of Nisan, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the foal of a donkey and was hailed as the King of the Jews.
- The lamb was to be inspected for four days until the 14th day of the month for any spot or blemish that might disqualify it as the sacrificial lamb. Fulfillment: Jesus openly taught in the Holy Temple and synagogues until the 14th day of the month and no fault could be found in Him.
- At the appointed time, the Passover lambs were slain by the whole congregation of Israel. Fulfillment: Jesus, the Lamb of God, was delivered and publicly killed on a Roman execution stake as the Passover lambs were being slaughtered.
